About the Piattis

The Piattis are returning to Stansted for a third time, so popular have they been with our audience (three of them have also appeared as the Piattini String Trio).

The quartet was founded at the Royal Academy of Music, and its name was taken from the influential cellist Alfredo Piatti who was a professor there in the 19th century.

Resident Quartet at Kings Place, London, the Piattis are widely renowned for their ‘profound music making’ (The Strad) and their ‘lyrical warmth’ (BBC Music Magazine). Since their prizewinning performances at the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition, they have performed all over the world and made international broadcasts from many countries.
